There are rooms where, due to the design of the building, not enough natural light reaches the space. An entrance hall, bathroom, walk-in closet, hallway or even an interior room – often it is precisely these spaces that remain darker, even though sunlight could greatly improve the sense of comfort.
A sun tunnel offers a natural and aesthetic solution to this: it collects sunlight through the roof or ceiling and then directs it into the interior through a reflective tunnel.
Our range includes VELUX and FAKRO sun tunnels, allowing us to offer a suitable solution based on the characteristics of the building and the specific room.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The principle behind the system is simple yet effective.
The light-collecting element installed on the roof captures natural light, which is then directed through a highly reflective tunnel to the light diffuser installed in the ceiling. From there, the natural light is distributed more evenly throughout the room.
A sun tunnel can therefore provide natural lighting even in areas where installing a conventional roof window or vertical window would not be possible, or would only be possible with significant alterations.
WHEN CAN IT BE AN IDEAL CHOICE?
A sun tunnel is worth considering if:
- there is no possibility of installing a conventional window in the room;
- the existing natural lighting is insufficient;
- we want to make an interior room brighter and more comfortable;
- using natural light during the day is important;
- the opportunity to install the system arises during roof renovation or other construction work.
A sun tunnel cannot replace a conventional window or roof window in every situation, but with suitable architectural conditions, it can be an easy and effective way to bring natural light into rooms that previously received only artificial lighting.
WE HELP YOU CHOOSE THE RIGHT SOLUTION
The efficiency and installability of a sun tunnel are significantly influenced by the characteristics of the building. Therefore, when choosing a solution, it is worth considering the roof design, the required length of the sun tunnel, the size of the room and the installation conditions.
